Publishing videos on TikTok - first experience report

Setting up video publishing on TikTok is very easy. Also uploading works fine, the videos are available very soon after the upload.

During the upload there appears the status message that the video is being checked and reviewed, for content that is not allowed. Forbidden is actually all kind of NSFW content. But it turns out that this automatic AI-powered check is quite blind... I was able to upload some things which I would consider NSFW. YouTube has been much stricter and was immediately reacting to such content. It turns out that this is a known issue: officially NSFW is banned as the community guideines state here:

https://www.tiktok.com/community-guidelines/en/sensitive-mature-themes

But users apparently experience this differently, as these examples on Reddit show:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TikTok/comments/1l0jeho/tiktok_has_a_bunch_of_nsfw_apparently_popping_up/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Tiktokhelp/comments/1kpx9b5/so_much_fucking_nsfw_and_tiktok_doesnt_do/

This automated review during upload apparently has some flaws. For two of my videos, it did reject my caption in which I did mention that my dolls are made in China. It did not complain when I used exactly the same caption for another video.

There is also a problem when trying to change the cover picture. Since my videos often start with a black scene, fading into something, the initial cover image shows just black. When I wanted to change this after the upload, it reverted back to black. Not sure why... I was so far only able to select a proper cover image during the initial upload process.

The statistics shows some weird things: On the home screen it shows that I have 3 Likes, but in the individual video list there is only one Like. There are 983 views shown, but the total in the graph is only 718.

There might be an implicit NSFW ban: my video of Marina (top) has no plays / views whatsoever. It is not even undressing or otherwise, but is just a simple pole dancing. The "Audrey is dancing - Part 3" which is the most NSFW of all these videos, does show 3 views - very few, but not 0. So what is going on there?

The first 2 days after the upload the views did rise, as shown in the above screen shot. After that, the numbers remained constant. No new viewers.

So overall a mixed experience. Potentially a very large audience, but with the strange and inconsistent reviewing it is not clear of this audience can be tapped properly. Also, it is not clear if the reported numbers are correct (too few likes).

Now on Tiktok!

When editing a few profile lines on my FanVue page, I saw there the recommendation to post on Tiktok. So I thought, why not? Giving this a try now...

here is the link under which I will post my doll videos:

The aesthetics of AI-generated videos

In recent months, well, maybe since a year, an application of AI technology is really taking off: and that is the generation of videos.

The fundamental principle for such a generation of videos is like this:

1. An image is needed. This can be either a real photograph, or an image that is generated by AI though a text prompt. The latter of course provides large freedom, but needs often refinement, because the initial prompt may not give the desired result. But with this method, anything is possible. Even unrealistic images can be created, for example women with non-realistic physical features. One can also create a specific style, be it Anime, Cartoon or other. It appears that many of the character creations generated with this method are young cute women, and they do appear quite similar. But that is misleading and does not show the full potential, but shows only the bias of the creators, i.e. the ones who write the prompts. There are wonderful examples of mature females being generated who are not really anymore those young attractive child-like girls, but who show in their faces the full experience of an exhausting life. It is these images which carry the most innovation in this new evolving art domain. There are many AI models, trained on specific sceneries, styles, and they can be modified by LoRas to focus on a very specific scenario and create realistic results.

But also real photographs can be used as input image. This is somewhat limiting, because there is the "reality" which one has not so much influence upon. But on the other hand, this also allows a very tight control on what one really wants to see, without depending on a vague text prompt, the interpretation of which is not really fully controllable by the AI concepts. One can put exactly the clothing on that one wants to be seen, and one can exactly shape the scenery. Because these images will contain real people, some of the AI video sites actually forbid using such images, for the sake of privacy and protection of those being in the picture.

The AI-generated imagery can vary from fully photorealistic to cartoonish, while the real imagery has the sense of a real environment and creates an aura of full realism.

--- For animating the OneSixthual dolls with such AI videos, only the real-imagery can be useful as input images: pictures of these dolls are being taken, and here already is the full creative process in the setting up of the scenery and taking the photos, portraits etc.

2.  In the next step, this input image is made into a video by image-to-video processing. Also for this there is a large number of AI models which performs this task. I have not yet really fully grasped which model is useful for which task or action, and these models can even be extended again by specific Loras for creating videos that relate to a specific situation or action. The description of what is to happen in the video is again done by a text prompt, describing the actions of the people in the image and possible some other things that are supposed to happen.

These videos are usually quite short: sometimes 3 seconds, sometimes 5 seconds, and currently also often up to 10 seconds. There is one approach which can extend an existing video snippet up to 20 seconds.

So in order to create a real longer video or a film, these short snippets need to be concatenated. This is often a problem, when the one video snippet ends in one situation that is not compatible with the next video snippet that is following and that was created from a different input image. Now this can really be a problem: the video will become inconsistent, and one might have to cut and edit even these small video snippets to achieve a more or less logical flow. Overall, this will create a video that is full of cuts, with very short scenes, which sometimes repeat an action from a different viewpoint. This may lead to an interesting but also a but hectic flow of the film, and if the inconsistencies are too large, this will no longer be a credible course of action and story.

There is a solution: Some of these AI image-to-video models offer the input of a starting image and an end image. The algorithm will the interpolate in between these two images, following the instructions that are given by a text prompt. Ideally, when the video snippet really actually ends with the end image provided, one can then create seamless scenes, where each end image is the start image of the next video snippet. This works not always correctly - I have seen AI models where the end image was actually not reached. But I also have had many good experiences where one could nicely concatenate these video snippets, and the resulting video was a smooth and seamless visual description over several minutes. This would emulate the film technique of a film reel recording a scene without any cut, or of a theatre play. The creative possibilities are endless and are very encouraging. And then a cut that really presents a new scene can be used to structure and segment the whole film. This would be the way into the future of AI video, and I am trying to pursue this by creating long seamless scenes with this technique.

There is even a further option of not only adding 2 images, but a whole series of "elements", i.e. individual images through which a small video snippet should interpolate (I have seen this with up to 7 elements). This really gives full control and extends the step-motion technique into a fully seamless video creation tool.

This is the current state of the art of AI video creation. I hope that a seamless generation of video snippets will be possible for a longer time than 10 seconds, because this short time is only able to create a small action but not a longer continuous shot with a continuing activity.

The start-end and the elements technique is already very helpful, and I am currently experimenting with it. For a smooth consistent video and story flow I find these techniques absolutely necessary. But there is also an aesthetic reason for using only those short video snippets, which then create a flow that is frequently interrupted by cuts.

Testing Synexa

Synexa provides access to a variety of tools: WAN 2.1 (start and end image), Framepack (single image) for video. Also several image generation tools (e.g. Hunyuan, flux, stable-diffusion)  are available, and audio generation for videos. The cost is reasonable: begins at $0.10 per video (5 seconds).

NSFW content is not objected, it is possible to upload NSFW images as basis for the video generation. The result is, however, not always convincing: there can be weird artifacts in the Framepack model, and the WAN model where one can specify a start and an end image, there is not necessary the end image of the video the one that was originally provided. The VIDU Q1 at Civitai works here much more reliable. Also there are no LORAs available, which means one cannot extend the model with customised behaviours.

But considering the low cost, one can experiment a bit and get reasonable results.

What is a "LoRa" in AI?

At all those web sites for using AI to create images or videos, one term appears often: "LoRa" = Low-Rank Adaptation. It turns out that these are extensions of the original model which add to the original model without that model having to be re-trained. Hereby a lot of computing time is saved.

Here is the explanation of LoRa from one of its inventors at Microsoft, Edward Hu:

In the world of generating images and videos with AI, a LoRa provides a way of extending the capabilities for behaviours or visuals of the image or video to be generated. This could refer to a specific visual style, or to particular actions that a video should show.

This is in particular useful for the generation of NSFW images and videos: here, the site https://civitai.com/ shows a huge variety of LoRas provided by users, for all kinds of situations, actions, etc., e.g. specific age of the person displayed.

Testing DeeVid AI

DeeVid is a site which offers image-2-video, text-to-video, video-2-video, and lip-sync. Also AI images can be created.

Here is a SFW video created from a starting and an end image:

NSFW content is detected and is not being processed.

But SFW content is fine, like this:

Testing SEAART.AI - Update

One of the results that comes up in a Google search for "img2vid AI nsfw" is SEAART.AI.

While it looks initially promising, testing it initially was quite a disappointment.

First, one needs to pay something to get videos. There are credits and stamina. I have not yet been able to understand the difference between the two, but I figured that one can buy the credits, and the stamina are some kind of reward. For example, one gets 130 stamina credited every day, but then they disappear.

One can also get a subscriptions to become an SVIP, which includes credits and stamina and provides additional benefits.

Since I needed some credit, I purchased for about €20 a set:

Gave me 17600 credits. Creating a video from an image costs 400 credits.

Which means that this would last for 44 videos.

Which also means one video costs about 0.45 € , which is a reasonable price.

If I wanted to get SVIP, I had these choices:

My try: I wanted to upload a NSFW image, then create a video from it. This was the picture of a partially dressed doll, with bear breasts but panties under a skirt.

Uploading a 2nd (end) video requires to be an SVIP, so I only could upload a start image.

After the upload was done, the image was incorrectly rotated 90 deg. This has not happened with any other AI app site, but I had this problem also with PizApp. Some issue in how my phone encodes the with and height. But Windows apps usually handle this well.

OK, then I tried to generate, adding a prompt about removing panties.

Gave no warning, but then the result was blurred - it was apparently tagged as adult / NSFW, and I was not supposed to see this. In my setting for SeaArt I enabled mature imagery, but that did not seem to have any consequence...

I gave it another try - it still loaded the source image 90 deg rotated horizontally. This is a stupid bug which will prevent me using Searart.ai .

There are no immediate and direct links to terms of service or to the content policy... and there is no warning that when uploading a pic must not be more than PG-13.

The result this time was not NSFW, so I could see it. Looks good, except that it is 90 deg rotated because also the upload was in the wrong orientation.

The quality of the motion is not bad.

Overall this looks like a very promising site, with many options. But it currently has a few problems:

  • loaded images are incorrectly rotated by 90 deg.  Update: this appears ok for other pictures.
  • Despite having declared to allow NSFW, I cannot see any NSFW content, not even my own generated videos (at least the creation of those appears to be allowed)
  • There is no help link. There is a feedback link, but it refers to feedback for specific images, and it is in Traditional Chinese.   Update: there is a customer service chat button, which I need to try out.

Maybe in the future this site will develop better, but as of today I cannot recommend it.

Showing the power of VIDU

On the site CIVITAI I did experiment a bit with VIDU Q1. This tool allows to provide a start and and an end image, then it interpolates between these images and creates a video.

I had taken the following series of 9 photographs:

I now used the first 8 images of this series as start images, then set the image following each of these images as the end image. Each of the end images was again used as the start image for the next video.
With VIDU Q1 I then created the 8 individual video snippets.

Then I concatenated them to this video:

Testing Civitai

In principle this CIVITAI is a great and very comprehensive site: one can choose between a wide variety of models, approaches, techniques. Must actually be already an expert user in order to make full use of the many benefits and options.

But there is one shortcoming: one can only upload images up to PG-13. The system automatically (with the help AI of course) checks the content of the pic and classifies it. And when the resulting video is above PG-13, then it is hidden, and the paid credits are lost.

The site does have tons of NSFW AI content, and they seem to be more open to this than other AI sites. But they apparently had a battle with their credit card payment processor, so currently no direct credit card payment is possible. But they are very creative and have found a good solution: allowing the purchase of gift cards which then can be redeemed.

To please their linked services, such as VIDU (who are VERY strict and adamant about only being up to PG-13), CIVITAI limits uploading your own images (e.g. as starter images) to PG-13. One would have to create an AI image from scratch using CIVITAI or one of the other linked AI services (e.g. comfyUI) to generate an AI image, and then during the upload, the metadata for those are checked. If the uploaded image does not have those metadata, then it is not allowed.

So far this is the most comprehensive AI site which has a wide variety of imagery and videos. Very impressive is their partnering with VIDU who are providing the VIDU Q1 concept. This create very nice videos (4 sec long) from a starting and an end image.

Here is an example:

I also created this, ensembled of a series of short VIDU Q1 video snippets:

I have to see how I can use this site to create also more elaborate NSFW videos. For PG-13 content, this site is unrivalled by any other in terms of quality and content.

Their support seems to be slow... I sent an inquiry and have not yet heard back from them.

Cost per video of length 3-5 sec: $0.40, which is quite reasonable.

Testing Unlucid.ai

The web app Unlucid.ai is a very simple AI site: it has only a few preset models, which can be applied to a single picture and create a 4 second clip.

There are 4 NSFW models which work relatively well when the source picture is more or less aligned to the starting situation of the model.

Here is the pricing for purchasing "gems":

Creating a video costs 30 gems, which is between $1.56 - $2.25 per video - relatively expensive.

The models to be used are fixed - maybe they will be changed once in a while over time, but currently there is not much change or customization possible.

But the resulting videos are OK.

Testing Vidnoz

In summer last year I discovered Vidnoz, and I have experimented a bit with it. It is quite powerful and allows talking videos to be generated from still images.

The main point of Vidnoz is to create advertisements or presentations, for example for online training.

There appears no limitation on NSFW, I was able to upload all kinds of images.

Overall the site is a bit confusing - there are a several Vidnoz products, which require separate subscriptions:
  • Vidnoz AI
  • Vidnoz Gen
  • Vidnoz AI Voice
  • Vidnoz AI Video Translator
  • Vidnoz AI Interactive Avatars
  • Vidnoz Flex

The individual tools have even more choices:

There are more than 1200 different voices, in different languages. When speaking English, these "foreign" voices even can speak in their native accent.

Is a great tool, very capable, but a bit confusing with all these various tools and options.

Testing DreamFace

Already for a while I had the DreamFace app on my mobile phone. It allows there to swap faces and do a few things with faces.I did get a "Perpetual Pro" subscription which allows:
  • unlimited standard avatar video
  • unlimited standard AI photo
  • high-def and no watermark
  • 3 mit per video
  • 5 weekly credits

It allows upload of a single image, then animates it, For example a body shake, dancing or pets speaking.
Nothing NSFW unfortunately.

The desktop version then has a few more benefits: https://tools.dreamfaceapp.com/
One can upload a video, then one can upload an audio or type a text, and then the video is animated with the text or the audio, lips moving properly. This is quite a useful feature, and I have used it already a few times.

Unfortunately it does not store the created setups, so one has to memorize the voices used and the text entered. Only the resulting videos are stored.

Here are two examples of the cats speaking (these are German cats, so they speak German...) :

And here is a video of a doll sitting near a lake:

When the audio / text is shorter then the source video, the video is cut short.
When the audio / text is longer than the source video, the video begins to roll backwards.

The OneSixthual dolls - updated living spreadsheet

Here is a living spreadsheet that is updated with information about my doll heads. As of today, there are 91 different heads and 38 different bodies.

This spreadsheet also shows a few specific details on how the dolls are used in the context of OneSixthuals: e.g. age, backstory, etc.

This collection of doll bodies and doll heads gives me plenty of options for taking photos and creating stories. I have, however, noticed that due to this large amount of options I have become less creative: I have so many things to choose from, that I am sometimes inhibited in realising the story ideas which I have. When I only had a few bodies (e.g. 3 to 5), then the stories did develop themselves very easily and quickly.

AI - Artificial Intelligence for my doll videos

In December 2021 I began taking pictures of dolls. These are dolls in scale 1:6, similar to the Barbie doll scale. These dolls look very realistic, and I realised that one could create scenes in which dolls interact.

So I began taking picture series, with still shot of the dolls, then putting captions and speech bubbles like in a cartoon. This way I was able to create "Graphic Novels".

Then in summer 2024 I discovered that AI technology can actually animate those static doll pictures. So I experimented a bit and was fascinated that I could give my dolls a voice. Face animation is done automatically, fitting to the text they are speaking.

And so I began experimenting, and I will share the results here on this blog. I will introduce a few of the apps that I have used, but I must state that this will just be a snapshot of the current situation: the technology is very much in flux, things are rapidly changing, and there are new innovations everyday. So my "reviews" may get outdated soon, but at least for now they may provide a starting point for those who are interested in follow these developments or give them a try.

Happy New Year 2025!

Dear all,

you may have noticed the change: this blog of oneSixthuals is starting anew. All the previous posts that were under the URL for this blog here are now under a new name: oneSexthuals . This was done to refocus on the two aspects of dolls: naughty and nice.

This blog here will be devoted to the "nice" aspects, where as the "naughty" aspects can be seen here: https://onesexthuals.blogspot.com/

I hope that I will be able to bring a few nice and interesting content here, which allows wide audiences enjoying the beauty of those dolls in scale 1:6.

So, happy new year to all of you from the dolls of oneSixthuals!
